Krypton was decommissioned as an SMHI system on June 30th, 2015. SMHI production now uses Frost.
Byvind is operated for SMHI production. It follows in the footsteps of the earlier clusters Bore and Blixt.
Byvind has a combined peak performance of 12 Teraflop/sec on 1,120 compute cores. It is equipped with a fast interconnect network (Mellanox Infiniband QDR).
The system was delivered in 2010 by GoVirtual AB.
